The Adult Learning Center offers programs designed for adults who desire a better education and want a second chance to learn the necessary skills to make life better. The programs are geared to meet the needs of adults who have not completed high school, who have trouble finding or holding a job because of limited education, who want to prepare for the GED test, or for those adults who merely want to improve their basic skills in reading, writing, English, math, and history.
The program is oriented to finding and meeting individual learning needs. The individualized instruction provided allows each adult to begin study at his or her own particular functional level and advance at this own rate without the customary class room competition and fear of failure. Materials are chosen according to the individual's instructional level and his career or life interests.

Any adult resident of Staunton or Augusta County who is 18 years of age or over and who is not enrolled in public school may enroll in the Adult Education Program. Special permission to attend may be given to out of school youth aged 16 and 17 by the students' home school district.
