My name is Lori Cox. This will be my eighth  year  as  principal of North River Elementary School.

I grew up in Mount Sidney and graduated from Fort Defiance High School in 1982.  I live in Mt. Pisgah with my husband, Doug and two sons.

I attended Radford University and James Madison University and earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1987.

I began my educational career teaching Science at Robert E Lee High School in Staunton.  I also taught high school at Fort Defiance and Buffalo Gap.
I taught middle school science at Stewart Middle School while attending JMU graduate program and obtained a Masters in Education in 2002.
I was an instructional supervisor for Augusta County from 2002-2012.  I worked with Science, After School, Libraries, and Response to Instruction.   I have had the pleasure of working with the North River faculty and students through my duties as a supervisor.  I look forward to working with the community and parents along with the teachers and students to make North River the best school it can be.
