Mrs. Bartley, M.Ed., NCCabartley@augusta.k12.va.usHi! My name is Mrs. Bartley, and I am a full-time school counselor at Hugh K. Cassell Elementary School. I received my B.A. in Psychology from The University of Virginia and my M.Ed. in School Counseling from The College of William and Mary. I am also a National Board Certified Counselor and certified Student Mental Health First Aid-er. Before Hugh K. Cassell, I was a counselor at Riverheads Elementary and Locust Grove Middle School. I have also worked in elementary, middle, and high schools in Williamsburg (where I grew up) and Newport News. The counselors have offices available for counseling, group, and parent meetings. We travel to classrooms for specials. I enjoy working with your children to help them succeed! Please contact me if you have any questions about the School Counseling program, and don't forget to check for current information in the school newsletter each quarter.Individual, Small Groups, and Character EducationI work with students in a variety of settings, including individual counseling, small group counseling, and classroom guidance. I also run small groups for grades 1, 3, and 5 on an as-needed basis. I primarily work with grades PreK, 1, 3, and 5, and Mrs. K-J works with students in grades PreK, K, 2 and 4. We are so excited to have two full-time counselors here at Cassell!Mission StatementThe mission of the Cassell Elementary School Counseling Program is to collaborate with staff, families, and the community to address the academic, career, and personal/social needs of our students, empowering them to become responsible citizens, life-long learners, and caring individuals who respect themselves and others. Here is an infographic to help share what I do!
