A little bit about me:
I was born as raised in the Staunton / Augusta County area. I graduated from Buffalo Gap High School in 1996, and was a member of the Varsity Volleyball and Track Teams. I then attended Bridgewater College where I was a member of the Volleyball Team and graduated in 2000 with a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology. I worked for a few years at the Commonwealth Center for Children and Adolescents, then as a Teacher Assistant at the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind (VSDB). In 2004, I started my School Counseling Master's Degree Program at James Madison University, and graduated in 2007. Upon graduation, I returned to the Virginia School for the Deaf and the Blind and worked there until 2017 when I joined the WMHS team!
As I enter my fourth year at WMHS, I am excited to continue learning and working with an incredible group of staff, students and families! I have an open-door policy, so feel free to contact me or come by anytime.
My husband and I have two daughters, one in 5th grade and one in 7th grade. I love to laugh and enjoy life! Some hobbies include playing guitar, knitting, camping, fishing, swimming, reading, and playing any and all games/sports with my family and friends. An interesting fact about me is that I'm fluent in American Sign Language.
