Dear BMMS Families,
I am excited to meet all the new Voyager faces in August! Here’s a little about myself:
I grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Virginia to attend Mary Baldwin University (MBU) where I earned an undergraduate degree in economics and political science and Masters of Arts in Teaching degree.
I have been teaching since 1994, all with Augusta County. I have taught many grades, from Head Start, kindergarten, third grade, and fifth grade, all the way to my current assignment as language arts teacher in sixth grade.
My future goal is to become a school administrator. I have completed the education leadership program through James Madison University. We’ll see what the future holds!
I met my husband, who is from Staunton, my senior year and we married in 1989. We are celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary in October! We have two children Catherine and Isaac. Catherine is a 2016 graduate of Riverheads High School and is attending BRCC. Isaac is a rising senior at RHS and is on the golf team. Go Gladiators!
My other interests include, spending time with my family (we love the beach in North Carolina and Maine), reading, playing Mahjong (a Chinese card game) and Scrabble, walking our dogs Rosie and Sam, and going to UVA football games in the fall (go Hoos!).
I am looking forward to a great year! If you have any questions or concerns you can reach me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or calling BMMS and leaving me a message. I will try to call you back as soon as possible.
