Hi, my name is Sarah Torrens and I am the school counselor at Stump Elementary. This is my fourth year at Stump and my eleventh year as a school counselor in Augusta County.
I received my undergraduate degree from Hollins University in Roanoke, Virginia and my Master of Education in Counselor Education from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia.
I am originally from Charlottesville, Virginia (Go Hoos!) but now live in Staunton with my family. My husband, Patrick, is a teacher at Buffalo Gap High School. We have two sons, Oliver and Sam. Oliver is in second grade at Stump and Sam is three years old. We also have a pug named Sullivan.
When I'm not at school I stay pretty busy with my two boys. We enjoy spending time with extended family and friends, traveling, hiking, and going to the park. We love to spend time at the beach and vacation in the Outer Banks each summer. I'm a big UVA sports fan and Baltimore Orioles fan. I love to read and cook for fun.
I love being a school counselor and it's a joy being part of this school community!
