    CFC section 608

     

    Training and Testing Class

     

    This class is an approved class by the Environmental Protection Agency per the requirements of Section 608 of the Clean Air Act.  It is designed to permit the certification of technicians as required by this Act.

     

    ALL Technicians are required to be certified to purchase or handle refrigerants after November 14, 1994.

     

    The class starts at 8:00 AM with training from a textbook till 11:00 AM then a video will be shown till 12:00 PM.  A lunch break is taken till 1:00 PM.  Then another video will be shown, and then a review session will be conducted till time to start the test.  The Test will start by 3:00 PM and all participants will be given 2 hours to complete the test.

    Core:    25 questions must correctly answer 18 questions to pass

     

    Type I Certification:  Small Appliances, 25 questions: 18 correctly answer questions to pass.

     

    Type II Certification:  High-Pressure Appliances, 25 questions: 18 correctly answer questions to pass.

     

    Type II Certification:  Low-Pressure Appliances, 25 questions: 18 correctly answer questions to pass.

     

    All students must pass Core to pass any other section.  If any other section is failed then just that section that was failed, may be needed to be retested.

     

    Certified in:  Type I, II, and III the technician will receive a Universal Certification.  This is given to show that a technician is legal to work on ALL HVACR equipment.  These certifications should ensure that the technician knows how to handle the refrigerant in a safe manner without exhausting it to the atmosphere.
