• CNC Programming


    By the end of this course the student should be able to read existing CNC programs to determine important variables in those programs and be able to modify them when called upon to do so.  Also, the student will be able to write simple programs without the use of a computer aided machining program G and M codes for CNC program controls.


    Program format

    Familiarization of CNC control options

    Straight line moves

    Rapid repositioning

    Canned cycles (i.e. drilling, tapping etc.)

    Cutter compensation

    Circular interpolation (including I and J dimensioning)

    Offset location

    Pocket milling

    Practical applications of these issues
