• Hugh K. Cassell Families,

We are excited for our new year!

Physical Education is an important part of your child’s total education.  The main role of physical education is to encourage the joy of being active.  The program focuses on movement skills, body and spatial awareness, coordination, and a strong emphasis on health and fitness.  Students are evaluated on their effort, attitude, and participation; not on their skill level.

Your student’s success in P.E. will depend on your help and cooperation!

    • Students MUST WEAR TENNIS SHOES. (This is required!) Sandals, boots, clogs, crocs, dress shoes, flip-flops, jellies, hiking shoes/boots, high heels, shoes with an open heel or toe, elevated heels are not allowed.  Students who do not wear appropriate shoes will not be allowed to participate for safety reasons and could receive a think time and/or office referral, and it could affect their grade.

    • Students should dress comfortable and appropriate. (check the weather)

    • Students who need to be excused from physical activity are asked to bring in a note from a parent or guardian or a doctor stating the nature of the illness or injury.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to working with you and your child!

    Sincerely,

    Elizabeth Glass & Wendi Shorkey
