I have been married to my husband, James, for almost 21 years! Whew... :-) We have two sons. One is an 9th grader and the other is in 6th grade. We live in Verona on a piece of property that has been in our family for four generations! My mother went to Verona, I went to Verona, and my dream when earning my degree was to teach at Verona. I have been blessed to teach here with such great colleagues! Verona is a great school!
Originally, I graduated from Averett College in 1996, earning a Bachelor's in
Business Administration and Equestrian Studies. Due to various changes
in my life, I decided to go back to school in 2011. I attended Liberty
University where I completed my Masters in Teaching in Elementary Education.
My teaching career began many years ago, however. I spent years teaching horseback riding lessons and Sunday school. Since 2011, I have worked at Verona Elementary and Clymore Elementary as a substitute teacher. I was also the Artist in Residence for the first half of the 2013-2014 school year at Verona Elementary. Then, I completed my licensure by student teaching the final half of the same year in 5th grade at Verona.
I am so excited to begin my third year with a full-time classroom, and I am so
thankful that your student is part of it! It's always exciting to start a new year, and I am excited to get to know all of my students and
their families more. If you have questions, please feel free to contact
me at school at (540)248-0141 or email me at
