• The intermediate class will teach more skills. I would request that students have taken the beginner class if this is allowed as a stipulation. 

    The class will be lots of techniques, which can be incorporated into more challenging projects.

    We will practice and learn skills and then incorporate our new skills into projects.

    1) Sewing, inserting elastic. project will be a bag holder. 

    2) Curved seams, to include stay stitching, notching and clipping. Project will be a bowl cover.

    3)Darts-project will be a bowl cozie. we will make one in class and you can make more at home.

    4)Hemming-measuring, marking, hand and machine hemming.

    5)Zipper-inserting a centered zipper. Project will be a zipper pouch OR zippered pillow cover.

    If we have time more skills will be taught. How to sew binding on.

    Other projects MAY include a casserole carrier and a travel jewelry holder if time allows.


    Supplies needed:

    Sewing machine and the manual

    basic sewing tools -thread, bobbins, fabric scissors,pencil,  tape measure, pins, pin cushion, seam ripper, sewing guage, hand sewing needles

    Notebook or folder for handouts


    I will bring supplies for first night. A list will be given out for each project so students can get the supplies needed.
