Dual Enrollment Eligibility
In order to take a dual enrollment course, a student must meet all eligibility criteria and any course prerequisites.
Interested students must be juniors or seniors who have demonstrated academic readiness for collegiate work. In certain circumstances, exceptional freshmen and sophomores may be eligible with permission from both the high school principal and the participating college.
Interested students must meet or exceed college placement requirements by taking the Virginia Placement Test (VPT). In certain circumstances, a student may be able to opt out of taking the VPT due to qualifying scores on either the SAT, ACT, or PSAT.
Interested students must have parental permission prior to student enrollment.
Questions about eligibility for dual enrollment should be directed to your school counselor.
