Hello, I've been teaching for 32 years and this is my 27th year of teaching here at Beverley Manor Middle School. I started teaching 4th grade at Kate Collins Elementary School in Waynesboro, VA for five years and then moved here as a sixth grade Language Arts teacher for 12 years. For three years I taught sixth grade math and then for the last twelve years I've been working with Reading Interventions.
I grew up in Augusta County just outside of the city limits of Staunton, graduating from Fort Defiance High School and James Madison University. After my husband, Abbott and I married, we moved to West Augusta where we've lived for over 30 years. Our son, Clay, graduated from Buffalo Gap High School, served as the VA State FFA Vice President for one year, graduated from Blue Ridge Community College and is a junior at Va. Tech. Our daughter, Laurel, is a sophomore at Buffalo Gap High School this year. She is involved in FFA, cheerleading, and plays softball. My family and I enjoy the mountains, snow skiing, and everything football!! We have many dogs since my husband is a bear hunter, but none more special than our housebroke Walker Coonhound, Harvest. We also share our house with 3 spoiled cats.
