Degrees and Certifications:

Mary Katherine Graham

Hello, I've been teaching for 33 years and this is my 28th year of teaching here at Beverley Manor Middle School.  I started teaching 4th grade at Kate Collins Elementary School in Waynesboro, VA for five years and then moved here as a sixth grade Language Arts teacher for 12 years.  For three years I taught sixth grade math and then for the last twelve years I've been working with Reading Interventions.  This year I am one of three 8th grade Reading teachers and I will have students from both 8th grade teams.

I grew up in Augusta County just outside of the city limits of Staunton, graduating from Fort Defiance High School and James Madison University.  After my husband, Abbott and I married, we moved to West Augusta where we've lived for over 30 years.  Our son, Clay, graduated from Buffalo Gap High School, served as the VA State FFA Vice President for one year,  graduated from  Blue Ridge Community College and is a senior at Va. Tech majoring in Applied Agricultural Economics. Our daughter, Laurel, is a junior at Buffalo Gap High School this year.  She is involved in FFA, cheerleading, and plays softball.  My family and I enjoy the mountains, snow skiing, and everything football!! We have many dogs since my husband is a bear hunter, but none more special than our housebroke Walker Coonhound, Harvest, and our Black and Tan puppy, Gus.  We also share our house with 3 spoiled cats.
