GED TESTING DATES
Computer-Based GED tests are given almost every Tuesdayand Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

In the case of inclement weather, our Pearson Vue testing center follows Augusta County Public Schools' closing and delay schedule. If Augusta County Schools are on a two-hour delay, our testing center will be closed. If Augusta County Schools are closed, the testing center will also be closed. If Augusta County Schools have an early dismissal, the center will close at the time of dismissal. If the closing or delay impacts your scheduled test, please contact Pearson Vue directly.

The GED Test will be given on the above dates at the Adult Learning Center located in Valley Career and Technical Center at 49 Hornet Road in Fishersville, Virginia. The full battery of tests comprises Reasoning through Language Arts (150 minutes), Social Studies (70 minutes), Science (90 minutes), and Mathematics (115 minutes). There are seven different item types on the computer based GED test which includes; extended response, drag-and-drop, drop-down, fill-in-the-blank, hot spot, multiple choice and short answer. The test is delivered on the computer in a proctored testing center, (not online). The 2014 GED® test costs $30 per each of the 4 subject tests, for a total of $120. Candidates are allowed to test three times on the same subject without waiting. After the third attempt, there is a 60-day waiting period before trying again.
The minimum age for testing is eighteen (18). Applicants under that age of 18 must have special permission from the Superintendent of Schools of the applicant’s school division of residence. No one under age 16 is permitted to take the GED test under any circumstances.
All applicants must sign up, schedule and pay for their tests at www.ged.com. A valid government-issued picture ID (driver's license or passport) is required for admission to the test.
