• Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year at our beautiful Hugh K. Cassell Elementary! Hugh K. Cassell is a fantastic place to learn and work!!!

I grew up in Augusta County attended Churchville and Beverley Manor Elementary schools and graduated from Buffalo Gap High School. In 1991, I graduated from James Madison University.   I began my teaching career at Beverley Manor Elementary as a kindergarten teacher. After 7 years I moved to second grade at BME. In 2012, I transferred to Hugh K. Cassell Elementary. This is my 8th year at HKC and my 27th year of teaching in Augusta County!  I absolutely love it!  The students are awesome, and I am so blessed to work, play, and learn with my super second grade team of teachers.

I have been married for 22 years to handsome husband, Scott. Scott is the Staunton City Fire Chief. We have one son, Eston. Eston graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in May of 2018. He is a sophomore at Virginia Tech majoring in Animal and Poultry Science and minoring in Biology and Chemistry. My husband and I spend many weekends traveling to Blacksburg. Go Hokies!

I enjoy teaching, reading, going to the beach, and shopping. I am also a huge sports fan! Spenting time with my family and friends is what I enjoy most when I am not teaching.

I look forward to a rewarding year with your child and you!
