    Citing a print book:

     

    Author’s last name, First name. “Title of chapter or section.”  Title of the work, translated by or  edited by First name Last name, Vol. number, Publisher, Year of publication, page number(s).

     

    Roth, Veronica. Divergent. Katherine Tegen Books, 2011.

     

    (If book has 3 or more authors, include the author that is listed first on the source.  Omit the other authors’ names and use the term et al.)

     

    Citing an e-book from website or database:

     

    Author’s last name, First name.  “Title of the chapter or section.”  Title of the e-book, Vol. number, Publisher, Year of publication, page number(s),  Title of the web site or database, URL (omit http://).

     

    Poe, Edgar Allan.  “The Gold Bug.”  Short Stories for English Courses, 2004.  Project Gutenberg, www. gutenberg.org/cache/epub/5403.

     

    Citing an e-book from an e-reader:

     

    Author’s last name, First name.  “Title of the chapter or section.”  Title of the e-book, Name of the e-reader device, Vol. number, Publisher, Year of publication, page number(s).

     

    Doer, Anthony.  All the Light We Cannot See.  Kindle Edition, Scribner, 2014.

     

    Citing a website:

     

    Author’s last name, First name.  “Title of the Article or Individual Page.”  Title of the website, Name of the publisher, Date of publication, URL.

     

    Jones, Jane.  “Giant Panda.”  Smithsonian National Park, Smithsonian Institute, nationalzoo.si.edu/animals/giantpandas/pandafacts

     

    (If a web page does not include a formal title, it is acceptable to include a description of the page.  Follow the description with the name of the website:  ex. General Information on the New York Mets.  NYCData….)

     

    Citing a database:

     

    Author’s Last name, First name.  “Title of the source.”  Title of the first container, First name Last name of any contributors, Version, Numbers, Publisher, Publication date, Location.  Name of Database, URL or DOL.
