So you want to know more about me?

I was born and raised here in the Shenandoah valley, graduating from Turner Ashby High School.  I then attended Bridgewater College where I recieved my Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, with a minor in Biology.  I recieved my teaching liscence through Bridgewater's Teacher Education Program.  I am now the only Chemistry teacher at FDHS, and am excited to be a part of the Fort community!

While at Bridgewater, I was able to participate in many activities and held several positions of leadership.  I was part of the Student Senate for 3 years, was an Orientation leader, but most importantly I was president of the Ultimate Frisbee Club.  (In Ultimate Frisbee, you try to score goals by passing the disc to your teammates to get in the opposite endzone.  No moving while you are holding the frisbee though!!)  It is a fast paced, fun game for everyone, and I have started a club here at Fort for the students.

While at Bridgewater, I was able to visit Athens Greece, and Rome Italy for several weeks, visiting the Parthenon and the Colleseum.  The Bridgewater Chemistry department helped to spark my passion for science, and chemistry with some wonderful teachers.  I am hoping to continue the legacy of inspiring young people to learn about how our world works at the molecular level through fun laboratory experiments and insights into how things work.
