• UPPER BODY ARM AND SHOULDER STRENGTHENING

     

    Bean bags, bean bag balls, hacky-sack balls, or tennis balls work great with these activities! You can even ball up a piece of paper to use.

    FROM PUSHUP POSITION

    1. Ball Taps: with ball on floor between hands, tap the ball with rigfht hand, then the left, repeat. Move ball to a different location for more taps.
    2. Hand Hockey: tap the ball back and forth betweenhands.
    3. Around the arm: with right hand move the ball around the left hand, repeat with left around the right. This creates a figure 8 on the floor.
    4. Ball to body touches: pick up the ball and touch it with right hand then left hand, to different body parts. head, chin, ear, opporite shoulder, opposite elbow, knee, belly button, ankle, toe, back
    5. pushups: ball on floor, touch it with nose or chin
    6. Body to ball touches: put ball on floor between hands and touch body parts down to ball without touching belly or chest on floor. Nose, elbow, ears, knees, shoulders.
    7. Around the back: pick up ball and bring it around the back and drop it onopposite side. Pick it up with other hand and reverse it to other side.
    8. Toss and catch: pick up ball and toss it into air catch it with same hand. Repeat with other hand. 
    9. Toss and catch to other hand.
    10. chin Juggling: hold ball under chin, drop it and catch it with your hand. Put it back under your chin and do it with other hand. Repeat.

    FROM CRAB POSITION

    1. Unders: roll the ball under body to other side, stop it and roll it back.
    2. Taps under body: alternate hand touches under body.
    3. Over the top: pick up ball and bring it over body and drop it on other side. Pick it up and return it.
    4. Balance the ball on your belly and travel around
    5. Side touches: with ball on one side, reach over with opposite hand and touch the ball, return hand back to side. Repeat 10 times and then put ball on opposite side.
    6. Catch a crab: toss ball from one side and catch with other hand, return it.
