    Meet Mrs. Palmer!

Hello! My name is Tiffany Palmer and I am looking forward to a fabulous school year!

I was born in upstate New York.  And when I was 1, we moved to Virginia.  I was raised in the Valley, growing up in Keezletown.  I attended Spotswood High School, graduating in 1996.  After high school, I attended JMU, majoring in Sociology and minoring in Special Education.  After graduating in 2001, I became a teaching assistant for Harrisonburg City Schools.  My first year I worked with the Exceptional Learners program at Waterman Elementary.  The next year, I was transferred to the preschool program at Waterman Elementary, and then to Stone Spring Elementary.  I remained in the preschool program for the next 4 years, and it was here that I found my true passion!  I returned to JMU, and completed my degree with a Master’s in Early Childhood Special Education and Early Childhood Education in 2006.

For the next 12 years, I taught preschool at Guy K. Stump Elementary in Stuarts Draft.  In 2018, I transferred to Clymore Elementary to join the wonderful preschool team.  Clymore is part of an amazing community, and I'm honored to call it my forever home!

My husband, Danny, and I live in Port Republic with our 3 children; Makenna, who is 19, Elizabeth, who is 10, and Tristan, who is 8.  We also have 3 dogs, 2 rats, and 2 guinea pigs.  In my free time I enjoy painting and spending time with my family. As a family, we enjoy going to Nascar races, trips to the beach, visiting family in West Virginia, swimming, and taking walks/bike rides around our neighborhood.

In the classroom I love to read with the children, especially Pete the Cat!  I also love to sing and dance, create arts and crafts projects, and just be silly and have fun while learning.

I look forward to working with your child and family! If you ever have any questions or concerns, please do not hesistate to contact me at tratcliffe@augusta.k12.va.us or 540-245-5043.

I know we are going to have a great year!
