    2021 Summer Governor School Information

    Other Items of Interest
    • A Gifted and Talented lending library is available in room U206 for students to check out books. They are able to write book reviews of what they have read and share them with other students in Booksource.  We will have a reading circle once a month for students to have the opportunity to talk about the books that they have read.

     

    • There will also be a Gifted and Talented Lego Robotics club this year that will meet during Gladiator Block once a month. Students will have the opportunity to build their own robotics.

     

    • Gifted and Talented students will have the opportunity to participate in the Creative Writing contest offered by VHSL each year.  STudents will have the opportunity to submit original poetry, essays, and short stories. The top two in each category will be submitted to compete at the state level.

     

    • A Gifted and Talented lending library for parents, faculty, and staff is available in room U206 to share ideas and give information for working with gifted students.  This is located on the front book case.

     

    • Assistance for those interested in applying to any of the Summer Governor Schools will be assisted by G&T teachers to help make sure that all deadlines are met.

     

    • Students are encouraged to look at the BRCC Fine Arts site to obtain a list of the numerous productions that are open to the public each year.  These performances take place in the evening and on the weekends.
