    Virginia & United States Government. McGraw Hill, 2018.

    Course Overview:

    This course is designed to provide a detailed study of Virginia & U. S. Government. The course begins with an overview of the foundations of American Government and concludes with a review of the whole semester's course material. In the main part of the course, the government of the United States is studied in detail using the Standards of Learning as a guideline. At the end of this course, students will be tested based on the VA & U. S. Government Standards of Learning (though no actual SOL test is given).

     

    Materials Needed for Class:

     

    Please bring the following to class everyday:

    *3-Ring Binder

    *Notebook Paper (College Rule Recommended)

    *Pen & Pencil

    *Textbook.

    Grading Policy:

     

    • Class Grades: (Category System – 80% of the Semester Grade)

     

    Your grades will be based upon the following:

    Major Assignments (Summative) - Tests, Quizzes, Projects):  50%

    Minor Assignments (Formative) - Classwork & Homework: 40%

    Participation:  10%

     

    • Semester Exam: (County-Mandated Test – 20% of the Semester Grade)
