Read, read, read!
The Cassell school record, set on May 12, 2017 by J. Childress, is 1,265.6 points!
Accelerated Reader is one of our reading incentive programs at Cassell. With the web-based Accelerated Reader Renaissance Place program students have access to over 90,000 quizzes on fiction, nonfiction, and picture books. Students read a book then choose to take a quiz measuring reading comprehension, vocabulary or literacy skills. Students earn points based on the number of correct answers they choose. The total points possible for a book are determined by the number of words in the book.
Cassell School Policies
Students may only take quizzes at school during school hours.
- Students may earn dogtags by accumulating words in upper grades or by counting books in lower grades.
Thank you to all parents and the PTO for supporting our incentive programs. Donations of new and like-new books are always needed for prizes. Financial donations help purchase dog-tags and fund the limousine rides and lunches. Your help and support of our students is deeply appreciated!
