Welcome to the wonderful world of third grade!
Hello! My name is Mrs. Jones and I am your child's third grade teacher this year. I have had the privilege of working with third graders for the past thirty-three years at Cassell Elementary. It has been an adventure filled with learning, triumphs, challenges, hard work, and humor.
I am proud to be a product of Augusta County Schools; in fact, I loved my teachers and school so much that I had perfect attendance for 12 years! I graduated from Stuarts Draft High School in 1978 and James Madison University in 1982. My teaching career began at Trinity Episcopal Preschool in Staunton, then continued at Cassell Elementary, where I started teaching third graders in 1984.
I live happily in Waynesboro with my husband and son, and a delightful Siamese cat named Sophie. I love to garden, cook, read, listen to music, and do crossword and Suduko puzzles. My favorite apps right now are Solitaire and Wordscapes. My favorite place is Emerald Isle, a lovely beachtown in North Carolina that we visit every summer. My extended family includes my parents in Stuarts Draft, my sister and her family in Waynesboro, and my brother and his family in Stuarts Draft. My stepsons and their wives have given my husband and me 3 grandchildren to spoil. We have a beautiful granddaughter named Lucy and a very active grandson named Emmett who live in Pittsburgh and a handsome grandson named C.J. who lives in Virginia Beach. I love being a grandma!
I look forward to working with you and your child this year. It is my hope that together we can help your child reach his potential as a lifelong learner. Let the new adventure begin!
