My name is Janine Thompson and I am the Speech Language Pathologist at Wilson Elementary.
I work with students who have impairments in:
sound production (articulation and phonology)
comprehension and use of language (including literacy)
preschoolers with developmental delays
students with hearing impairments
I graduated from Radford University in 1998 with a BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders. In 2002, I completed a Masters degree in Education from Old Dominion University. In August of 2005, I graduated from James Madison University with a MS in Speech-Language Pathology.
I currently hold the Certification of Clinical Competence from the American Speech and Hearing Association (CCC-SLP) and certification from the Virginia Board of Audiology and Speech Language Pathology.
I hope to use this web page to empower parents with information about speech and language, it's disorders, and tips to use at home with your student. I will post articles, research findings, and web pages that are relevant to the communication development of your child.
