Welcome to Wilson Middle School Art with Mrs. Margaret Miller.Contact Mrs. Miller: 540-245-5185 or firstname.lastname@example.orgMrs. Miller has a Bachelor of Arts from Mary Washington College (1985), a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Virginia Commonwealth University, and a Masters of Arts in art education from James Madison University.She has achieved several awards: Middle School Art Educator of the Year awarded by the Virginia Art Education Association in 2003, The Virginia State Art Educator Award: Speical Needs Art Educator awarded by The Virginia Art Eduation Association in 2013, A National Award: The Peter J. Geiser Award awarded by the Special Needs Issues Group, SNEA of the National Art Education Association in 2015, and the Dawbarn Education Award in 2015.Mrs. Miller has been teaching since 1986. She began her career teaching middle school exceptional learners right after graduating Mary Washington College in 1985. She studied Studio Art and elementary education (nK-7) at MWC. The following year she taught 6th grade in Spotsylvania County, Virginia and continued for 4 years during which she educated students in Reading, Social Studies, Science and Enrichment. She moved to Richmond in 1991, and while she taught 4th grade in Petersburg, Virginia, she also attended Virginia Commonwealth University and worked a second job at Ritz Camera. While teaching 4th grade Mrs. Miller taught all academic subjects and P.E. to her students. At VCU, she earned her art education degree. Between teaching jobs Mrs. Miller taught homebound students all levels all subjects, even Algebra!! In 2013 Mrs. Miller got her Master of Arts degree in art education from JMU.Mrs. Miller has been an art teacher since 1996, and she started out at Stuarts Draft High School. In 1997 she moved to Stuarts Draft Middle School where she taught until 2006. In the Fall of 2006 Wilson Middle School opened and she has been there ever since.Mrs. Miller has 3 sons and an awesome husband who is a photographer. Mark Miller runs a successful photography business in the area. Their son Sean was born in 1994, Nathan in 1996, and Seamus in 1999. She is proud of all of her boys, husband included, and their many talents.Art at Wilson Middle School is a fun and informative class. We take art very seriously.
