Degrees and Certifications:
I grew up originally in the small town of Fairfield, Virginia, in neighboring Rockbridge County and graduated from Rockbridge High School. I received a BS in Education from Eastern Mennonite University and a Masters of Education in Administration and Supervision from Liberty University. I am proud to have worked the majority of my career in the high school setting as a special education teacher, coach, and now an administrator.
I live in Staunton with my wife Suzi, who works at Wilson Memorial High School, and our two dogs Cooper and Ryleigh. My daughter Sydney Mace is a James Madison University graduate and now lives in Boulder, Colorado. My two step-sons Colin and Conor Clark are products of Augusta County Schools and still live in the area. As a parent and step parent, I spent many nights in the bleachers at sporting events, band concerts, school musicals, and other school activities and am grateful I can continue that tradition supporting students at Fort Defiance High School.
I am entering my 30th year in education and 8th year as an administrator at Fort Defiance High School. I am honored to work with a talented staff, supportive parents, and a caring community to prepare our students on their high school educational journey. “Together we build community and make a positive difference through tradition, respect and responsibility,” which is, of course, The Indian Way.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns. I am thrilled to be a part of the Fort Family and look forward to many more years as part of the Tribe.
