Miss Amador

I was born in Costa Rica, Central America. In 2003 I moved to Nelson County, and then moved to Stuarts Draft in 2005; where I now live with my son. I graduated from the University of Virginia with a bachelor’s degree in Social Science.

My passion for culture and languages drew me to work as a Spanish interpreter for ten years. In 2013 I returned to school to get my teaching degree in both English as a second language and Foreign language. Now, teaching helps me to continue fulfilling my passion for learning and transferring knowledge. Spanish is my first language; therefore my students will get the full Spanish cultural and linguistic learning experience they need to become successful global citizens. I encourage my students to be active members in their community, state country and the world that they live in. By organizing a summer trip abroad yearly, I offer the opportunity for studentS to experience the world as a whole. I am excited for the new school year and can't wait to make a positive and lasting impact in my student’s lives.
