Hello! My name is Shelby May, and this is my thirteenth year teaching. As you might have guessed, I have not always been an educator. I had previously worked in the communication field. Even with this opportunity, I still had a dream of becoming a teacher. With the support of my family, I pursued my teacher licensure. I have a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and an elementary education endorsement Pre-K to sixth grade from Mary Baldwin College.
My husband, Jeffrey, and I live in Augusta County with our golden retriever, Huckleberry. We also have two daughters: Logan, who is a physical education teacher at Riverheads Elementary School and Courtnie, who works for the City of Staunton in the Engineering Department focusing on water and soil conservation. This past year, we had our first grandchild, Layne, who will be one on November 12th.
