JMU-- BA History and MAT Elementary Education
Welcome Wildcats!! I am looking forward to being your history teacher. I used to teach at an elementary school but wanted more time to teach history so I skipped a few grades and now here I am in sixth grade. This will be my fourth year teaching at BMMS. I am so excited to be teaching at a middle school. Collaboration, class discussions, and projects are a few of my favorite things about middle school.
I went to Stuarts Draft High School and then went onto James Madison University for both my history and teaching degrees. Prior to teaching, I worked at the Frontier Culture Museum. Like most teachers, I do enjoy reading and spending time with my family. Since I thoroughly love history, I do visit museums and historic sites in my free time. I also know just enough about the Washington Nationals to hold a decent conversation but can easily be stumped by a clever student.
Since I truly love the beach and teamwork, I am going to leave you with a quote that I have incorporated into my classroom expectations: "Make sure that everyone in your boat is rowing and not drilling holes when you are not looking."
