Jesse Sullivan 6th Grade Science

Welcome to BMMS! l am looking forward to being your science teacher. We will explore everything from scientific investigation to the vastness of the universe. This will be my first year teaching science, but my second fall at BMMS. Sixth grade science is really the best year in science as it lets us dabble in all areas of science including chemistry, physics, and some earth science. Space exploration and weather/climate are my favorite topics we will get to cover this year.

I went to Page County High School then James Madison University for both my undergraduate and graduate studies in Middle Education. Throughout my time at JMU I worked full time either as an Apple Campus Rep or computer repair technician. As you can probably tell technology is a passion of mine and I love working on ways we can better our world (both in school and out) with technology. Education pairs well with technology when it has a purpose and screen time in the classroom will be used to maximize learning.

Middle school is about learning about yourself by collaborating, being creative, critical thinking, communicating, and being a citizen. These 5C's are the life skills we will work on during our time together this year!  This is highlighted by one of my favorite quotes- Be a yardstick of quality. Some people aren't used to an environment where excellence is expected. - Steve Jobs.

Beverly Manor Middle School 6th Grade Team

  • Team-Wide Expectations

The 6th-grade team has expectations for students, parents, and ourselves.  Each team member will explicitly teach the school-wide academic and behavior expectations.

At BMMS we are going to...

    • Be Safe
    • Be Kind (respectful)
    • Be responsible

Around the school, these three behavior expectations are going to look different, but are equally important in each school environment.
