• Ron Witherow, Jr.


    Mr. Witherow is in his twenty-second year of teaching at Fort Defiance High School and also has adjunct faculty status in English at Blue Ridge Community College.  He has also taught English at Albemarle High School and and Buffalo Gap High School.

    In addition to his high school teaching, Witherow has taught thirty-three total college composition and technical writing courses at Radford University, Texas Tech University, Mary Baldwin College, and Blue Ridge Community College, and he served as Assistant to the President at Radford University for five years.  He developed the dual enrollment English course for seniors at FDHS which he has taught since 2010.

    Witherow holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in English from Radford University.

    He was inducted into the Fort Defiance Athletics Hall of Fame in September 2016 for a cross country and track coaching career that spanned 14 years (1998-2011).
