Here is a website with some great online tutorials all in one place. They include a lot of Mac programs but also include other programs.

When using the SOL practice items provided by DOE at this website http://www.doe.
virginia.gov/testing/sol/, Wendy Chandler says it best below: practice_items/index.shtmlWhen working with the practice items, the user guide should be used with it. It is scripted for teachers to share with students. It explains how to use each tool and how to indicate your answer choices. The tools are available to support the students in determining the correct answer. To be consistent ALL answers must be selected using the selector icon (arrow). That is true for every test item. The dot tool is use to work with the graph. Demonstrating practice items using the guide will teach students how to navigate through the test, hopefully without having to go back because an answer was missed. The user guide also provides the answers as you discuss each question. If answers are shared as you instruct the students on how to work with the online testing format there is no need to score the practice. These practice items also gives teachers the opportunity to discuss problem solving strategies to approach the multi-layered questions. Taking the time to guide students through these test items will have many benefits for better performance. It will provide a comfort level with the technology aspect and exposure student to the increased rigor. To support both teacher and students, the user guide is essential.
In preparation for the fall 2012 SOL test administration, additional practice items have been added to the End-of-Course (EOC) Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Biology, Earth Science, Chemistry, and Reading practice item sets located at http://www.doe.virginia.
gov/testing/sol/practice_items/index.shtml. The number of additional items varies by test, but in all cases the additional items have been added to the end of the existing practice items.
In addition, each practice item set has now been updated to reflect changes in how student responses to technology-enhanced items will appear on the section review screen within TestNav, the online testing software used in Virginia. Furthermore, all practice item guides have been updated to reflect the inclusion of the additional practice items and/or the changes in how student responses to technology-enhanced items will appear on the section review screen. On this page, you will find links to web sites that will help students to achieve academic success. It will be a work in progress so check back frequently.
