For high school students everywhere, prom is one of the most highly anticipated events of the year.  Months of preparation and planning go into making the night magical and memorable.
Sadly, each year there are stories about young people using and abusing alcohol and other drugs on prom night.  According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, motor vehicle crashes are still the leading cause of death for 15- to 20-year-olds. Furthermore, statistics show that traffic deaths among teens during typical prom season weekends (March 1 to May 31) are higher than any other time of year.
The goal of the WMHS After-Prom Committee is to organize an event to ensure that this significant night is safe and enjoyable for all. Our all-night event provides entertainment, food, and door prizes in a safe, supervised venue so that WMHS students do not become another unfortunate statistic.
