Hope everyone is enjoying their summer. I wanted to update you on some significant changes and important information for the coming 2021-22 school year.

On July 1, 2021, the Shenandoah Valley Center for Advanced Learning (SVCAL) began operations to coordinate educational programs best implemented through regional partnerships. The Center for Advanced Learning includes Valley Career and Technical Center (VCTC), Adult Education and Apprenticeship, Adult Learning Center (GED), Adult Practical Nursing and Shenandoah Valley Governor’s School (SVGS).

We are excited by the great potential to develop a unique and model program in education. I am honored to be the director of the new Center for Advanced Learning and am proud to work with all these regional programs including Valley Tech.

I am also pleased to announce that Ms. Amy Pultz will serve as the coordinator of VCTC. Ms. Pultz transitioned into education as the Criminal Justice teacher at VCTC after serving as a police officer in Staunton. She has mostly recently served as assistant principal at VCTC.

As the school year begins, please feel free to contact myself or Ms. Pultz if you have any questions.

Our contact information is:

Lee Ann Whitesell, 540-245-5002, whiteselll@valleytech.us

Amy Pultz, 540245-5002, pultza@valleytech.us

We are excited to have students return under hopefully more normal circumstances and look forward to working with you in the coming year.

Best for the remainder of your summer!

Lee Ann Whitesell, Ed.D.
