Governor's School

The Central Shenandoah Valley Regional Governor's School for Mathematics, Science, and Technology is a competitive admission program for highly motivated and gifted high school juniors and seniors. The college-level program includes integrated courses and activities in the sciences of physics, chemistry, and biology, mathematics at the pre calculus through the multivariate analysis and linear algebra; engineering, computer science, and biotechnologies. Some of the courses offered are Advanced Placement and others are dual enrollment with James Madison University's Integrated Science and Technology program. The facility is student centered and technology rich. Through the Outreach Program, the school provides opportunities for younger students in grades K-10, and their teachers to experience the same environment and use the same equipment as the high school students but through developmentally appropriate activities. The school offers workshops and seminars for the professional development of teachers at all grade levels.
