ATTENTION ALL 10TH and 11TH GRADE STUDENTS:

The Counseling Department is very excited to announce that we will be offering work-based learning opportunities at SDHS beginning with the 2021-2022 school year.  This program is going to allow you to get high school credit for your part time jobs you already have!!  It will also help those of you interested in getting a part time job.  We are working with local businesses to create partnerships to help match students with jobs that are related to their career interests and instructional preparation.

Internships are one example of a work based learning opportunity we hope to offer.  It places students in a real workplace environment to develop and practice career-related knowledge and skills.

Students participating in internships are guided by a formal, written training plan and can get high school credit while getting paid.  Many students at SDHS already have jobs that we can match up with high school credit.  We also have many local businesses excited about this opportunity and willing to hire SDHS students as part of this program.  Please see your counselor if you are interested in this program.
