As the country deals with the effects of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), Comcast is taking immediate steps to help connect more low-income families to the Internet at home. Effective Monday, March 16, 2020, new Internet Essentials customers will receive two free months of Internet service. We are also increasing the speed of the program to 25 Mbps downloads, and 3 Mbps uploads for all new and existing customers. Households with outstanding debt owed to Comcast may be eligible for Internet Essentials. We are waiving this qualification if you apply and are approved by 12/31/20. After 12/31/20, standard eligibility rules apply.

To qualify you’ll typically need to be someone that is already eligible for a public assistance program such as the National School Lunch Program, Housing Assistance, Medicaid, SNAP, or SSI. You’ll also need to live in an area where Comcast is available, but have not subscribed to the service in the past 90 days and not have an outstanding debt to Comcast that is less than a year old.
