The ACPS School Board held a special called meeting on May 5, 2025 for the purpose of announcing Dr. Kelly Troxell as the new superintendent effective January 1, 2026.
Dr. Troxell received her undergraduate and graduate degrees from James Madison University, and doctoral degree from the University of Virginia. She began her career 32 years ago as a high school teacher in Rockingham County Schools. During her time in RCPS, she also served as a high school assistant principal and the Director of Career and Technical Education and Fine Arts. She came to ACPS in 2014 as Principal of Wilson Memorial High School. She now serves as our Executive Director of Personnel.
