Summer Meals, Augusta County Schools, with a drawing of a plate of food and the Augusta County Public Schools logo

The Augusta County Public Schools Nutrition Program would like to take a moment to remind all of our families that we will be providing the opportunity for all children in Augusta County ages 1-18 to receive FREE meals again this summer.  Every other Wednesday in June and July, we will offer each child 10 breakfasts and 10 lunches and fresh milk free of charge.  Breakfasts and lunches will consist of fresh food as well as shelf stable items to assure that food will last until the next pick-up date.  Your child does not have to be a student in Augusta County Public Schools to benefit from this opportunity.  Feeding Augusta is a collaboration between Augusta County Public Schools, the Augusta County Library and the Blue Ridge Area Food Bank.  The purpose of Feeding Augusta is to support our children and families by offering a combination of healthy fresh and shelf stable foods, fostering our parent and school partnership, and coming together as a community to support the next generation.

Based on feedback from the parent survey meals will be available June 3, June 17, July 1 and July 15 from 4:30-6:30 at the locations listed below:

Buffalo Gap High School

Craigsville Elementary School

Fort Defiance High School

Riverheads Elementary School

Stuarts Draft Elementary School

Wilson Middle Schools

Please share with friends and neighbors, especially those who may not have children in the Augusta County Public School system so they are aware of this opportunity.

More information to come including a questionnaire to help us get a rough estimate of participation for food preparation purposes as well as to inform us of any food allergies your child may have.

Thank You,

--
