Last month, WMS Band students had the privilege of meeting Sergeant First Class Zachary Pride, a Bass player under the US Army's "Pershing's Own" band.
The WMS Band was chosen from applicants across the country as one of 100 schools to meet with a US Army Band musician as part of their "Centennial Celebration." WMS was chosen on the merit of the Patriot Day assembly, in which the band and choir perform each September.
Our band students learned about life as a professional musician, performing in a ceremonial ensemble, and got to ask questions about Mr. Pride's experiences playing in his own middle school band. Thank you SFC Pride!
