Volleyball at Nelson Co. Information:

Clear Bag Policy will be enforced- bags for medical purposes will be allowed but may be searched before entry.
All spectators will have to pass through the weapons detectors before entering the event. Please share that all metal objects (vapes, cans of tobacco, pocketknives, etc) should be left in the vehicle.

Varsity Football Scrimmage 8/22: The Scrimmage this evening at Nelson Co will now only involve Nelson Co and Buffalo Gap. James River will not be attending.

Football Varsity Scrimmage news: Nelson County Public Schools have now instituted a clear bag policy for all extracurricular events. Additionally, all spectators unless displaying a handicap tag should park in front of the school. There will also be metal detectors at the entrance of the gate.

Athletic News Important update:

Thank you to all the families that have registered on the Arbiter Athletics and Activity page!!! This is a new platform and we are working out the kinks. Those who have already registered if you could log back in and post the most recent physical date on the section that has been added that would be very helpful. Thanks again for your help in this as we navigate this new platform together.

Parking Permits are filed through Student and Parent IC Portal for 2025-2026. Students 10th-12th grade will have access to a document in their Infinite Campus Portal to complete for Parking Permit registration. These documents will be released to all 10th-12th grade students today 7/31/25 at 10AM.
Once the student has electronically filled out and signed the Parking Permit document it will open in the Infinite Campus Parent Portal for a Parent/Guardian to sign. When both steps have been completed our Main Office will grant permission, assign a parking space on campus and issue a BGHS Decal. Each permit lasts until the end of the school year. There is no charge for Student Parking on Campus.
Please remember that parking on our campus is a privilege and all school rules apply to student vehicles on our campus.

The Bison continue to Roll. The duo of Taylor Hassett and Sierra Baker will compete in the State Tennis Semi Finals at Liberty University Thursday 6/12 at 3 pm. Today Softball outlasted Lancaster 7-2 in the State Softball Quarterfinals. The will play Eastside at 10 am on Friday 6/13 at Moyer Park in Salem in the State Semifinals!!!
