It's Back to School Eve! At Stinger Nation, we got you! There is a lot of support for students and families. Admin, Counselors, Teachers, and Staff are here to serve you! While we will help anyone and everyone, Admin and Counselors serve the following grade levels specifically. Mrs. Hilbert, Principal; Mr. Grove, Assistant Principal; Mrs. Eliasson 8th, Counseling Coordinator and 8th Grade Counselor, Hannah Cook, 7th Grade Counselor; and Mrs. Bartley, 6th Grade Counselor. In the front office, Mrs. Brown and Ms. Parrish are happy to point students in the right direction.

Don’t forget there is a charge for meals: Breakfast is $2 and Lunch is $3.25. Cafe staff will be available this evening to take payments and have free and reduced lunch forms available.

Open House is tomorrow, Monday, August 10th from 3:30 until 5:30. There is no formal program. Use your student’s schedule as a guide for meeting teachers and seeing classrooms. Information sessions held with Admin at 4:00 and 4:45. Fees will be collected until 7pm tomorrow.

Please review our cell phone protocols - At WMS, cell phones are Away for the Day, turned off and stored in student lockers. Phones may be confiscated (and returned at the end of the day) for the first offense and a day of in-school suspension for the second offense. Additional violations may result in further consequences.

Back to school means supplies. Label supplies to stay organized. Also label clothing items/backpacks/lunch boxes/water bottles so that lost and found items can be returned to the correct student. Many misplaced items end up in Lost and Found and remain unclaimed. School Supply list linked below. Please note that zippered binders are not permitted.

Tomorrow, Friday, August 7th is the SAW Style Clothing Closet from noon until 6pm. This is a free clothing event held at Wilson Middle School!

At Wilson Middle School, attendance matters! When your student does need to be out, please either send an email to wmsattendance@augusta.k12.va.us or a written note turned into the front office within 3 days of your student's return to school. A phone call on the morning of being absent will also excuse your student.

Pay fees beginning tomorrow, Tuesday, August 4th, online and in-person. Fees collected at WMS from 8:30 until 4:00. Extended hours until 7 pm on Monday, August 10th only. Fees are $35. Cash or check only in-person or with a credit card online.

Wilson Middle School Volleyball Tryouts will be August 11th, 12th and 13th from 3:30pm-5:30pm. Students must have a current VHSL physical to tryout.

Wilson Middle School Cheer Open Gym

Wednesday, July 29th 6:30-7:30 in the rec gym in front of the high school. Entrance in rear of building. Last day to join middle school squad is August 18th.
