Student Daily Health Screening
Has the student had a temperature greater than 100.4 in the last 24 hours?
Does the student have a new cough, shortness of breath, changes in taste or smell, chills, sore throat, diarrhea, and/or nausea, fatigue (more tired than usual), headache, muscle aches, nasal congestion that is different than usual in the last 24 hours?
Has the student taken medication to lower his/her temperature in the past 24 hours?
Has the student been in close contact (less than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes with or without a face covering) with someone diagnosed with COVID-19 and still completing the full 14 days of quarantining?
Has the student been in close contact (less than 6 feet for more than 15 minutes with or without a face covering) with anyone who is currently awaiting COVID-19 test results?
Has the student tested positive for COVID-19 and still completing the full 10 days of isolation?
If the answer is YES to any of these questions, the student should stay home, parents should contact their health care provider or the health department immediately, and contact the school as quickly as possible.
Local public health authorities determine and establish the quarantine options for their jurisdictions. CDC currently recommends a quarantine period of 14 days. Options to shorten quarantine with acceptable alternatives were provided by the CDC on December 2, 2020. Augusta County Public Schools will follow the alternative quarantine period of 10 full days after symptoms have started or after a PCR test has been administered.
The Buffalo Gap Sportsmans Club will be meeting on 8/2/21 in the Buffalo Gap Library @ 6:30 PM. Please feel free to join us as we begin preparations for the upcoming Fall 2021 sports seasons.
Volleyball Tryouts will be held 8/2/21 - 8/4/21 with JV Tryouts running from 3:30-5:00 PM and Varsity Tryouts running from 5:30 - 7:00 PM. Cross Country Announcement - Buffalo Gap is proud to announce that Amelia Coltrane will be heading up both the Boys and Girls Cross Country teams this season. Competition Cheer Tryout - Change !!!!
Tryouts will begin on 8/2/21 Monday Evening @ 6:00 PM. All athletes are welcome with any skill level. Athletes must have a valid VHSL Physical and covid waiver to tryout.

Augusta County Schools in collaboration with the Central Shenandoah Health Department will be hosting 2 vaccine clinics.
Clinics will be held on Aug. 9 at Wilson Middle school from 9 to 12 and Beverly Manor Middle from 2-5. and include Tdap, Meningitis, HPV and Pfizer Covid Vaccine. You do not have to register, however, registration forms will be available at your school to fill out prior to help save time. Pfizer Covid Vaccines are free to all. Other vaccines may be filed with student insurance if applicable.
All rising Seniors will need the Meningitis Vaccine and All rising 7th graders need the Tdap and Meningitis. Religious and Medical exemption forms are also accepted documentation. For questions, feel free to call Carol Cash, Augusta County School Health Coordinator at 540-245-5133
