Transcripts/Records Requests

A transcript is an official record of a student's coursework throughout high school. High school courses taken during the middle school years also appear on a student's transcript. Transcripts are used in a variety of situations including enrollment verification; college admissions; scholarship consideration; military recruitment; and employment.

After graduation, records remain at Fort Defiance High School for five years. Records older than five years are housed at the Augusta County Public Schools Central Office. Individuals needing records older than five years after graduation must contact Central Office.

Transcripts or other records may be requested by current students and alumni in a variety of ways listed below. Questions should be directed to the registrar at Fort Defiance High School or the student’s school counselor.

If you are a CURRENT Fort Defiance High School student...

Option #1 - Mail/Pickup Transcript or Record
Complete the Records Request Form and return it to the school counseling office.

Option #2 - Parchment.com (electronic)
Augusta County Public Schools has partnered with Parchment to allow students to request electronic transcripts (i.e. eTranscripts). Login to your Parchment account and order your transcript electronically. See the registrar in the school counseling office for your Parchment activation code. Parchment can be used to send transcripts to colleges/universities or to individuals for employment, military recruitment, and/or for scholarship purposes.

Option #3 - CommonApp; SendEdu; or Coalition for College (electronic)
In addition to Parchment, many colleges/universities use one or all of these websites as options for students to send their high school transcript during the admission process. Students only need to choose one option when sending a transcript and should adhere to the college’s admissions office regarding how the college/university prefers to receive a transcript. Students using one of these websites must inform their school counselor to ensure that records are sent in a timely manner.
