Notes:
- Students in AP, DE or Governor School courses are not exempt from Exams and should plan on taking those on the designated days.
- VCTC and Gov. School will run a normal schedule on RHS Exam days unless otherwise notified.
- Exemption criteria does not apply to SOL testing as students are required to take those assessments in order to meet diploma/graduation requirements.
- On Exam days (May 20, 21), we also use that time for SOL Expedited Retakes.
- If a student is exempt from an Exam, they do not need to attend school.
- If a student is exempt from their afternoon exam (had to take the morning exam) they must have valid note or email (rhsattendance@augusta.k12.va.us) from a parent/guardian (no phone calls) and we will release the students prior to the afternoon Exam.
- If a student is exempt but you have no way of getting them to school or picking them up from school you can still send them and/or we can keep them here throughout the day.

*Exam Exemption Notifications - students will be notified by May 12 (seniors) and May 19 (underclassmen) on exam exemptions in each of their classes. Exam exemptions will also be marked and posted in Infinite Campus through parent/student portal under the attendance tab. When checking portal on Infinite Campus, be sure to check the correct date of the exam and the correct block and ignore the other blocks as they could be marked incorrectly due to how we have to enter information. To be considered for an exemption a student must have an "A" average in the class and have missed no more than 5 total days in that particular class. If the student does not have an "A" average and/or has more than 5 total days absent in a particular class they will need to plan on taking an Exam as they must meet both criteria to be exempt.

Parents/Guardians/Caregivers of Augusta County High School students who are taking Non-Writing SOL test can access their child's SOL assessment results via the Virginia Assessment Parent Portal. To create an account or gain access, please click on the following link:
