For Regional playoff games, no county, district or punch passes are accepted for admission. Only VHSL passes are accepted per Region policy. April School Board Meeting: The Augusta County School Board is usually scheduled for the first Thursday of the month. However, the first Thursday in April occurs during Spring Break for Augusta County Public Schools. Therefore, the meeting will be held on April 9, 2026 at the Augusta County Government Center at 6:30 PM.

UPDATE: 3/16/26: This is to provide an update as we continue to monitor the weather conditions throughout our region and school division. It has been communicated to us that the current plan is to remain in school for the remainder of the day. As such, the following will be implemented due to potential weather conditions as we head into the evening and overnight -

- All after school activities, events, practices and games are postponed today. This includes community groups using the facilities.

Calendar Change for April 2026:
Due to the special election called by Governor Spanberger on April 21, 2026, ACPS has made an adjustment to the current school calendar to accommodate voting in our buildings. Monday, April 20, 2026 was originally scheduled as a day off for students and teacher workday/professional development. April 20th will now be a regularly scheduled school day. Tuesday April 21, 2026, will now be the workday/professional development day for teachers with schools being closed for students.

School Calendar Change:

Due to the recent extended school closing, the 3rd Quarter will now end on March 17th with Report Cards available on March 24th. The 4th Quarter will begin on March 18th.

For Middle Schools only:
In addition to the above changes, the following adjustments for the 6-weeks rotations will be made to help even out the instructional time:

-4th 6-weeks will now end on 2/24/2026 (27 days)
-5th 6-weeks will run from 2/25/2026 - 4/10/2026 (27 days)
-6th 6-weeks will run from 4/13/2026 - 5/21/2025 (28 days)

The Augusta County School Board will hold a public hearing on Thursday, February 5, 2026 at 6:30 PM to receive input as it pertains to the 2026-2027 budget. The meeting will be held at the Augusta County Government Center in Verona, Virginia. All interested parties are invited to attend. Details for those wishing to speak are available on the "School Board" tab of the Augusta County Public Schools website. The regular board meeting will follow.

Augusta County Public Schools and all school division offices/departments will be closed Monday, January 26 and Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Essential personnel may be called to work on Tuesday.

Augusta & Waynesboro Teacher Job Fair
The 2025 edition of the Riverheads Yearbook, themed Seeing Red, was awarded First Place in the Faire National Yearbook Review. This nationwide contest accepts submissions from all 50 states and scores yearbooks across four categories, totaling 1,000 possible points. Riverheads earned an impressive 950 overall, including a perfect score of 200 in the Content & Coverage category, which evaluates how well the publication features classes, clubs, special events, sports, student life, and overall student representation. Congratulations to the RHS yearbook staff along with Ms. Wenger - RHS yearbook sponsor - on this National recognition! Go Gladiators - RED PRIDE!
