
- RHS Business Department Named Top 100 Best W!SE High Schools in its National rankings: Each year students enrolled in a Personal Finance class take an end of course test called the W!SE test. First published in 2013, the 100 Best W!SE High School national rankings recognizes the top 100 performing High Schools in W!SE's national network. This showcases excellence in financial education and motivates schools to "race to the top" in personal finance instruction! We are very proud of this honor and recognition! Congratulations goes to both the students as well as the teachers (Ms. Painter & Ms. Miller) for all of their hard work!


Free athletic physical night for ALL middle and high school student-athletes will be May 14th, from 4:00-7:30 pm at Riverheads High School. Students must have complete form filled out prior to being seen and parent signature is required. Students will report to the RHS cafeteria and wait to be called. There may be a longer wait time with additional student athletes being seen. Any student that is participating in MS or JV sports next year MUST have a VHSL physical to be eligible. All students planning on playing football, cheer, cross country, golf, or volleyball in the fall will need those prior to being allowed to participate in ANY practice or tryout. Thank you to Dr. Marsh and his staff for providing this service to the student-athletes in our community!

The March 6, 2025 ACPS School Board Meeting will be postponed to Thursday, March 20, 2025 at 6:30 PM. The agenda for this meeting will be posted on the ACPS website no later than Monday, March 17, 2025 and will include the budget presentation.

CALENDAR CHANGES DUE TO WEATHER: At the ACPS School Board Budget Work session on February 20, 2025, several members of the Board expressed concerns about the loss of seat time/ instructional time, especially for 2nd semester, due to our inclement weather days in January and February. Therefore, they approved a motion to add back instructional time with the follow revisions to the 2024-2025 ACPS Calendar:
April 7, 2025 will now be a REGULAR school day instead of the scheduled Teacher Workday/School Professional Development Day. Additionally, April 18, 2025 will now be a FULL school day instead of a 1:00 early dismissal.

Spring Sports will begin try-outs/practices on Monday, February 24, 2025.

UPDATE: The theatre performance scheduled for 2/14/25 at 6:00 p.m. has been cancelled. Next performance will the Spring Musical on April 11 & 12.

RHS Drama Presents : The Marvelous Magical Musical Review! Join us at 7:30 on April 11th and 12th for a night of great songs and great scenes. General admission is 5$ and free for children under 10.


Yearbook Earns National Recognition: We are thrilled to announce that the 2024 publication of the Colosseum, "Riverheads Rewind" has won 1st Place in the prestigious American Scholastic Press Association Yearbook Competition. This national contest showcases the best yearbooks from schools across the United States. This marks a monumental moment in Riverheads history as the first time we’ve ever earned this incredible honor. Competing against outstanding yearbooks from schools nationwide, our team’s hard work, creativity, and dedication to storytelling and photography have been recognized at the highest level. This achievement is a testament to the talent and passion of our students and adviser who brought our yearbook to life. Following on the heels of our 2023 yearbook state championship, this award shows the dedication of our staff and the milestones our program is rapidly achieving. The Coliseum yearbook is not only one of the best yearbooks in the state, but now, it is also among the top yearbooks in the nation. Congratulations to Ms. Kynndal Wenger, RHS yearbook advisor, and RHS yearbook students for this outstanding recognition and achievement - Go Gladiators - RED PRIDE!


UPDATE (1/9/25): Report Cards will be distributed January 15. Saturday School scheduled for January 11 is postponed. Valley Honor Band rescheduled for January 17 & 18. Home Wrestling quad on January 11 is cancelled.

Last Day of 1st semester is December 18. First day of 2nd semester is Monday, January 6, 2025.

Thanksgiving Holiday Break: November 27 - 29, 2024

Progress Reports for 2Q will be handed out on November 14 which marks the halfway point of the 2nd nine week grading window. The last day of the first semester is Wednesday, December 18, 2024.

RHS was recognized as a Blue Star School for 2023-24. A note from the director: We are truly proud of your students’ accomplishments. We are equally proud of you and your teachers who helped them become Certified Financially Literate™. Through your personal finance instruction, you have given them vital knowledge about personal finance. You have also equipped them to become financially capable young adults. Your commitment and dedication are applauded. Blue Star Schools are recognized through the Personal Finance classes and student performance on the W!SE test.
