Scott Cash, a teacher at Fort Defiance High School, is seeking donations to ensure that the  33rd Annual Thanksgiving Food for Families Project will still happen for needy families in the Augusta County area. He is seeking donations to purchase turkeys, side dishes, and desserts. He is hoping to raise $6,000 to feed 500 families this year.

Meals will be distributed at a drive-thru system at Fort Defiance High School on Thursday, Nov. 26, Thanksgiving morning. Each meal recipient will receive a phone call confirming that they'll have a meal ready for pick up. A limited number of meals will be delivered for special circumstances.

Cash wasn't even sure as of this past weekend that he would be able to pull this off because of food shortages at Kroger in Waynesboro, one of the community partners. He found out Saturday that they would have product and that his project would happen.
